Fall 2023 Season Review – University City HS

University City High School

Girls Tennis

Finished the season 11-1 and were Conference Champs. Danielle Wasserman voted Conference player of the year. We had several newcomers that joined the team. The players worked hard throughout the season, this allowed them to develop confidence and chemistry after each contest.

1ST Team Singles- Isabelle Braeske and Clementine Huck

1st Team Doubles- Danielle Wasserman& Isabelle Braeske

2nd Team Doubles- Clementine Huck & Siena Yazdi

Boys Soccer

Boys soccer had a strong season with a record of 14-5. They finished 2nd place in Conference. The boys soccer program is coming alive with growth in numbers. We were able to a full JV team this season. These young men played with lots of passion, which also brought tons of excitement.

1st Team All Conference- Daniel Avilez, Aaron Amaya, Lane Fordyce and Yankel Amaya

2nd Team All Conference- AJ Holohan, Mekhi Gamboa, Brady Klohr and Juan Cruz

Football- This year’s team was very young but they battled hard every week. We were able to get a victory in the first round of districts.

1st Team All Conference- Aniah Corley

Volleyball

1St Team – Madison McNairy

2nd Team- Morgan Wibben

Boys Swimming

In the past few years our boys swim team didn’t compete in multiple meets due to low participation. We decided to Co-op with Maplewood this year. The young men had fun competing this season. We are anticipating an increase in swimmers next year.

Girls Golf- The team is still in the developmental stages. Zariah battled and competed to the end of the season. We look forward to the growth of our girls golf team.

Field Hockey- Our team was comprised of student-athletes from Rosati and Brentwood (United). The team ended with a winning record and hosted a game for the first round of playoffs. We have several athletes returning next year.

Cross-Country- Team battled and had lots of fun throughout the season. We have more than half of our team returning next fall.

Orchestra- Students performed and prepared duets with members of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
