WINTER 22-23 Season Review – Rockwood Summit HS

Rockwood Summit enjoyed a fun and exciting winter season as many individuals and teams achieved success,

The Varsity Boys Basketball team completed a 18-8 regular season coming in 2nd place in the Suburban Red Conference. The Falcons tied a season high school record in wins with 18 and were led by Junior Guard Quincy Thomas, and Senior Forward Shane Conner. Shane Conner earned 1st Team All conference, while Quincy Thomas and Dominic Nenninger were 2nd Team All Conference.

The Varsity Girls Basketball team enjoyed a similarly successful season this year finishing with a 19-8 record. The Falcons won the Suburban Red Conference Championship and were led by Seniors Ella Mantz, Abby Ulsas, and Gabby Greer. Abby Ulsas And CeCe Hoefilinger earned 1st Team All Conference, Margaret Schneiders earned 2nd Team All Conference. And Coach Wilkinson was the Suburban Red Conference Coach of the Year.

In the pool the Lady Falcon Swimmers and Divers qualified 9 individuals to the Class 1 State Swimming and Diving Meet. As a team, the Falcons came in 16th place in Class 1. Freshmen Breanna Wilkinson earned an All-State Medal with a 5th place finish in the 100 Butterfly. She also finished 9th in the 50 Freestyle. The top relay for the Falcons was the 200 Freestyle relay which finished in 9th place.

In addition the Falcon wrestlers performed well on the mat. The Varsity Boys qualified 3 wrestlers to the Class 3 State Meet. Senior Caelin Stegmann culminated his Senior year with a 5th place finish in the Class 3, 190 lb weigh class. The Falcon Lady Wrestlers qualified two individual to the Class 2 State Meet. Sophomore Madeline Haynes was the State Runner up for the 2nd year in a row in the Class 2, 140 lb weigh class. She finished her Sophomore campaign with a record of 40-2.
