Girls Wrestling
Our girls wrestling program started with 4 young ladies and ended with 3, under the coaching of new coach Eric Harris. Each had some successes this year however freshman, Lexington Johnson had an amazing inaugural year making history as the 1stfemale wrestler in Hazelwood School District’s history to qualify for state but also to win a medal at the state competition. Lexie finished, 38-10, taking home the 6thplace medal for 190 lbs. Did I mention, she is a freshman!!
Girls Basketball
The girls basketball program is under new management with head coach Anton Maclin and assistants Demond Simms, Marvis Jackson and Damien Rogers. This group of coaches put together a 15 – 12 record, losing 4 games by 3 points or less. The lady wildcats have not had this many wins since the 2016-17 season. They were lead by senior Charney Davis, 1stteam all-conference and junior Julia Downs, 2ndteam all-conference and sportsmanship award. We hosted a Pink-Out game, the North County Varsity Tournament as well as the District Meet, all being very successful. The ladies won the North County Tournament and spent time volunteering at St. Vincent Community Center for Totes for Tomorrow. They even spent time learning about the college recruiting process with a guest speaker.
