SPRING 2023 Season Review – Rockwood Summit HS

The Rockwood Summit Falcons had yet another successful Spring season with many accolades and accomplishments. ..

The Varsity Boys Golfteam finished 2nd in District Play at Farmington to earn a team trip to the State Tournament in Sedalia. The team of Jacob Schreiner, Gavin Greenwalt, Trey Moser, and Yash Rao followed that up with a fantastic State Tournament. The Boys Team came away with a 3rd place trophy in the Class 4 Golf Tournament. This is the first State Team Trophy for Rockwood Summit in Boys Golf

The Varsity Girls Trackteam won the Class 4, District 5 Meet this spring. The Girls qualified 11 events for the State Track and Field Meet in Jefferson City. After competing for 2 days, the Lady Falcon Track team took home 13th place with many State Medalists which included.

100m-Christelle Barafundi (8th place)

200m-Christelle Barafundi (7th place)

400m-Barrett Jackson (6th place)

800m-Reese Martin (8th place)

4 x 200m-Barrett Jackson, Elliotte Stevens, Ali Sandler, Christelle Barafundi (5th place)

4 x 800m-Ella Thier, Mia Brown, Cate Rossomanno, Reese Martin (2nd place)

The Varsity Boys Baseballteam competed in the always challenging Suburban Yellow Conference which prepared them for the post season. The Falcons defeated Ladue in the first round of District play on a walk off 3 run HR. They followed that up with a victory over Chaminade and defeated Parkway Central 3-2 to win another District Championship. The Falcons fell short in the State Quarterfinals 4-2 to Ft Zumwalt South.

The Varsity Girls SoccerTeam competed in the Suburban Yellow Conference and remained competitive throughout the season. End of season accolades included.

1st Team All Conference- Katie Jundt

2nd Team All Conference- Tori Bridges, Sienna Nicolson, and Maria Domian

The Varsity Girls Lacrosseteam also had a very good season playing an competitive schedule. They finished the season with an 8-8 record and made the State Quarterfinals, eventually losing to 2nd place State Runner-Up Eureka. Natalie Ruffus and Margaret Schneiders earned 1st Team All State Honors
