McCluer High School
Girls Soccer
Girls Soccer had a successful season this year. The Lady Comets won the Suburban Conference Blue pool for a second consecutive year. The Comets were led on the offensive side by freshman Tyesha Phillips with 15 goals. Senior Captain Aleah Fields scored 7 and freshman Emilin Fugon Solis scored six goals and had 5 assists. On the defensive side, Captain Erica Hampton played strong with a little help from sophomore Kiore Ballard. Captain Emmora Hightower helped control the midfield. Summer Harrison and Te’Mya Jackson-Miller shared time in the goal with some fantastic saves.
Track and Field
The Girls and Boys Track team had great participation this year with a full JV and Varsity roster which has not been possible in some time. The Comets had eight athletes qualify for State. And we are proud of our Class 4 State Champion in the men’s High Jump, Brandon Johnson. Brandon’s highest jump of the year reached 6’9 tying a school record set in 2013.
