The Comet Volleyball team had another winning year. They finished 14-9. The Comets finished second in the Blue Pool. The highlight of the season was a win over Hazelwood East in the first round of Districts after losing to them the previous three times during the regular season. Senior Makayla Boyd was the Player of the Year in the conference. Keyah Keys and Tyesha Phillips also earned All-Conference honors.

Softball

A highlight for the 2023-2024 McCluer Lady Comets softball team this season

was the performance of senior Destiny Richardson. She batted .655 with 44 plate

appearances. She had 4 home runs, 6 triples (ranked 10nth in the area), and 33 RBI’s

(also ranked in the area). She transitioned from outfield to catcher mid season and

earned First Team All Conference honors. Another highlight of the season was the performance of junior Eryn Hooks. She pitched every game this season and batted lead off. She hit .483 with 46 plate appearances and had 14 RBI’s. She also went two for two in the district game and

earned the honors of First Team All Conference.

Girls Tennis

The Comet Tennis Team is currently made up of 3 beginner players, who have worked hard to learn the game of tennis. From never playing the game of tennis before, each of these girls are playing High School tennis matches, and are looking forward to working on their skills in the off-season. Our doubles team started winning more and more games in their match sets as the season went on, and worked hard to win two of their matches towards the end of the season.
