Fall 2022 Season Summary – Clayton High School

Clayton Girls Cross-Country

The Clayton High School girls cross country team took 1st place in both the Conference Meet and the District Meet. Senior Sophia Pelligreen took 1st place overall in both meets. The girls went on to place 3rd at the State Meet in Columbia, MO.

Clayton Girls Golf

The Clayton High School girls golf team brought home the Conference Championship this season. Anais Oge took first place overall in the tournament.

Clayton Girls Tennis

The Clayton High School girls tennis team had a historic season.They not only won the District Title, but also had success in the State Tournaments. Aanya Singh was the Individual Singles State Champion, and Riley Zimmerman and Riley Reeves took 5th place in the Individual Doubles State Tournament. The entire team then took 2nd place in the Team State Tournament.

Clayton Boys Soccer

The Clayton High School football team was able to accomplish a huge playoff win this season, which is something the team has not done in 8 years. The win was great for both the coaches and athletes as they worked so hard all year and battled through adversity.

Missouri State Swimming and Diving Championships Finals Recap

  • 200 Medley Relay– Aidan Brennan, Casey Chu, Wenxu He, Hunter Wilson, Graham and Henry Zucker worked together to earn 8th place.
  • 200 Free– Hunter Wilson moved up 2 spots for 14th, Graham Zucker dropped 3s earning 1st Place and a new school record, with a 1:40.66
  • 100 Back– Graham Zucker earned 1st place
  • 400 Free Relay– Hunter Wilson, Casey Chu, Wenxu He and Graham Zucker earned 7th Place and a New School Record.

Two new school relay records in the 2MR & 4FR (twice) and Graham is a 2-Time State Champion, setting new school records in both 100 Back and 200 Free (twice).

Collectively, the 8th place team finish ties with last year’s team as the highest placing at the Missouri State Swimming and Diving Championships this century.
